We all took turns with the flu, so we ended up taking her to see Santa on the busiest Santa Picture day of the year, Christmas Eve Eve. The last time she saw a real Santa up close, she completley freaked out. So for the past few weeks, I've been trying to prep her, explain who Santa is (along with the explanation of Baby Jesus of course!) and she has gotten really into the whole Christmas thing. She talks about Santa, Elves, Snowmen, Princess (her name for Mrs. Claus), Reindeer, Angels, and the Baby born under the How I Wonder (her name for star).

Back to the mall - Madeline was very excited. SANTA! She yelled his name and pointed as we got closer to the front of the line. We were in line for an hour and a half. SNOWMAN! They had quite a set up, with snowmen, presents, trees, lights... quite a lot for the little mall by my house. Santa even had a real beard.

We got to the front, and Santa had to take a restroom break. This was perfect, so that I could get her in the chair and get her comfortable. The photographer was awesome. Immediately, with the help of a cool toy with flashing lights and an elmo doll, he grabbed her attention and she smiled for him. He was literally throwing toys in the air and catching them with one hand, and taking photos with the other.

And next thing you know, Santa slipped in the picture.

Santa tapped her on the head, and the photographer said, "little one, who is that behind you?"

Love this one below.

And then you can tell when she got a little bit frightened.

I decided to just try and get a shot with her on his lap.

At first I thought it was a huge mistake...

But these are priceless.

After I paid for the DVD of pictures, Madeline found her courage again and waved to Santa. BYE BYE SANTA! She must have yelled this about 10 times, but she got his attention and he waved back. Baby girl had the biggest smile. And she LOVES looking at these pictures.

Merry Christmas. I love and miss all of you more than you know.
