the day we went back to Washington

Everyone was game when my "pretend-to-be-a-professional-photographer bug" kicked in. I got some really good ones!

I loved that dress so much that I had her put it on again. And I DID wash her face with baby soap, then with makeup remover, then with a wet wipe. The A is stuck. It's now Tuesday night and it hasn't faded.

I don't think Mimi was ready for all the smooches!

Walks with daddy. Makes me smile.

She went running off full speed through the grass, and then very suddenly stopped over this muddy/dead grass part. She wouldn't move - she just made this face, like ummm MOM do you see where I am??? COME GET ME.
I think she was afraid the dirt would get on her feet. I can only hope that she keeps this attitude towards dirt.

How old are you?

Madeline loves her some Aunt Britt.

hehehe. I love the squished up happy face.

this is Alabama football

Bryant Denny - it's been a long time, definitely gave me the goosebumps walk in.

Tailgating

Sometimes things just don't work out the way you plan.

I like picking out Madeline's outfits and I really like making her clothes when I have time to plan it out (not very often... I think I've only made two things). About a month ago, I spent a couple of hours trying to find a cute dress pattern and then even more time at Joann's deciding on fabric (I'm very indecisive). AND then lots of time figuring out how to sew it all together. I definitely had to channel my inner Glenn and Ethel (my grandma and granny). It turned out cute - I mean it was absolutely ADORABLE. I even stitched an elephant on the front. It was a crimson dress with a houndstooth elephant hand stitched on the front.

Wellllll. Five minutes into the tailgating, little one poops. It was a blow out. So then I had a naked baby.

We really couldn't have that, so Mimi (my Mom's grandma name) bought Madeline this sweet little number. sooo cute! Thanks Mimi! And thanks for watching her during the game - I'm so happy yall got in some much needed bonding time.

We saw Rachel and Ross!

I called Rachel last week to let her know I will be there for the game and WHADUYA KNOW SHE SAID SHE WAS GOING TO BE THERE TOO!

I love this picture of yall!

Bamaland

I planned a trip to Alabama for Jake's 30th birthday.

We took Madeline on a walk around the strip.

And as we passed a hair salon, I thought - PERFECT, WE SHOULD CUT OFF THAT CRAZY RAT TAIL / MULLET THING THAT HAS APPEARED ON THE BACK OF OUR SWEET GIRL'S HEAD. So here is Madeline's first hair cut. It was just a little off the back. I held her the whole time (all of 1 minute). She didn't cry. And the stylists hair was pink - maybe that's what kept her attention?

Then Aunt Britt got home from work. Her and Madeline blew bubbles on the porch.

She holds the wand thisclose to her lips and does one really short little poof of air... hence no bubbles :( but I'm sure she will get it soon.

By the way, she picked out those sunglasses. We were just browsing, and girlfriend walked over to the sunglass display and started doing that reaching and pointing thing that she does. So I scooped her up, she grabbed these. I helped her put them on AND SHE WOULDNT TAKE THEM OFF. This girl and her accessories.

Toddler Gym

Toddler gym - we weren't sure what to expect, but Madeline jumped right in, loved every second.

The swing was her favorite. I pushed a little higher each swing and saw her smile get a little bigger each time.

Oh, we will be back again, toddler gym.
